ECFA Activator Training events
The final ECFA Activator & Staff training events of the academic year took place in March at two very inspiring venues. For the South members Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and the North Leeds United’s Elland Road! The events were attended by up to 100 members from across our ECFA Accredited College network. All of whom have made an incredible impact within their colleges this year as part of the programme.
Activators & Staff were given the opportunity to hear from guest speakers, including Careers In Football and members from The FA National Youth Council, as well as attend bespoke workshops being delivered by AoC Sport. The speakers shared their experiences within youth leadership/the wider career pathways in sport and also highlighted just how beneficial volunteering (in roles similar to our Activators) can be to achieving their first steps into a preferred career path.
The overall theme of the day, for both Activators and staff, was sharing success. Attendees had the opportunity to reflect on this academic year so far and collaborate with other colleges on what had gone well, and what they may do differently next year to maximise the impact of the ECFA Activator programme at their college.
The day was bought to a close with Activators and Staff presenting within the first-ever ECFA Town Hall session. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to, discuss and share ideas with every college in the room, while Activators were able to proudly present on both their impact and vision for the 23/24 academic year.
Joshua Stockdale, AoC Sport, National Football Development Officer said - “The team wants to offer a huge thank you to every ECFA Accredited College that has utilised the Activator programme this year. Your engagement and clear drive to make this programme a success have been nothing short of inspirational. The wider impact on football participation, and the clear development of your Activators throughout the year, has been great to see. We are very excited to keep building on and expanding the programme for the 23/24 academic year so that our ECFA Accredited Colleges can continue to drive positive change across the country.”
