Confirmation of date for the 2023 AoC Sport National Championships

AoC Sport is pleased to confirm the date of the 2023 AoC Sport National Championships. The event, which this year saw participation from students studying at 110 different colleges from across England and Wales, will again take place at the University of Nottingham over the weekend of 14th-16th April.

The National Championships is the highlight of the AoC Sport calendar and with over 1200 student athletes participating across 13 sports, is one of the largest events of its kind in Europe.

We are pleased to confirm that, following conversations with member colleges, other stakeholders and members of the Muslim community, the confirmed dates mean that the event will be completed prior to the Muslim Festival of Eid al-Fitr, ensuring that Muslim students will not have to choose between representing their college and region and celebrating with their families.

AoC Sport recognises that the confirmed date is the final weekend of the Easter holidays, and we will look to schedule the event in term time where possible for future editions in 2024 and beyond.

We are looking forward to welcoming college staff and students to Nottingham in April. In the meantime, good luck to all college teams and individual competitors hoping to qualify for the event by taking part in regional tournaments later this year.
