AoC Sport Ryder Cup Final

The Finals of the AoC Sport ICT “Ryder Cup Style“ North v South mixed team finals took place at the challenging Oakmere Park Golf Club on 10 May 2023

The best overall 12 Gross and Nett players from the two qualifying events in the North and South took part in a Fourball , Foursome ( alternative shots ) and Singles competition played over 27 holes

After the first 9-hole four ball competition in sunny but windy conditions the south team were 4-2 up. The north team made a challenging come back over the next foursome holes coming back to just one point behind. The afternoon started in light rain with the score at 8.5 -5.5 , all to play for over the final 9-hole singles competition,.

The south stormed ahead winning 6.5 to the north 5.5 coming out as the overall winners 15 -9

This is the first year AoC Sport has joined forces with the Intercollegiate Tour ( ICT ) to create more opportunities for students to participate in a full golfing programme

Over the year four events were held in the north and four events in the south. The combined overall leader took part in the ICT tour finals in early May at Trentham followed by this combined AoC Sport “Ryder Cup Style” competition from students that had qualified from the two combined AoC Sport north & south golf events .
