100 Metre Challenge
- Jacob Dixon - Derby College - 15.1 Seconds
- Libby Dodsley - Derby College - 17.1 seconds
- Tim Hotchin - North Lindsey College Staff - 15.1 seconds
- Joanna Czubala - Derby College - 22.1 seconds
Winning feels great and I’m very glad I decided to take part with my class but what I truly treasured from doing this challenge was competing with everyone, classmates, friends, people I had never met before from other campuses. The experiences and the encounters that I had, gave me joy. The rowing challenge was a fun and brilliant way to get students involved with exercising and a bit of friendly competition. Jacob Dixon.
I took part in the competition, because I supported sports students and I wanted to lead by example. I am quite sporty for my age group and used to exercise using a rowing machine in the past.I will happily send you a picture with the medal. Joanna Czubala.

1 minute Challenge
- Dillon Doughty - Milton Keynes College - 335 metres
- Katie Roberts - Derby College - 300 metres
- Rob Parsons and Edward Lamb - Both Milton Keynes College Staff - 310 metres
- Steph Badger - Birmingham Met College - 287 metres
Edward Lamb Quote: ‘This comes as a bit of a surprise, but I am very pleased about winning. Indoor rowing is a great way to mix up your training as it is a great full body workout for all ages and fitness levels. This competition was a good way to help promote different ways of exercising for our students and it was good to have some healthy competition taking place amongst everyone at the college.’ Edward Lamb.
I thoroughly enjoyed thrashing the lads in my class whilst obviously encouraging them to compete! Encouraging taking part in physical activity across the whole college was the reason for taking part as well as encouraging healthy competition. I enjoy indoor rowing as it is a whole body exercise that is easier on the joints than other options. Steph Badger

The indoor rowing challenge was a fantastic, fun and inclusive way to challenge our staff and students this academic year. Creating a little bit of competition with the different event leaderboards was great in keeping everyone motivated. We look forward to more AOC and British rowing initiatives this academic year. Nathan Watson.
