AoC Sport and BASES launch new partnership
AoC Sport has signed a partnership agreement with the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) to support members to enhance the quality and reach of sport and exercise science education and practice in further education.
The partnership will focus on key initiatives including research collaboration, professional development and promoting valuable resources for staff and students.
As the leading professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK, BASES is committed to promoting scientific research and evidence-based practice, ensuring high professional and ethical standards in the field.
The career opportunities available in sport and exercise science are expanding all the time and this expansion appears likely to continue for the foreseeable future. Sport and exercise scientists are employed by hospitals, universities, professional sports clubs, sport institutes and private healthcare providers, as well as a variety of other organisations.
Matt Rhodes, Head of Sport, Association of Colleges, said:
“We are excited to announce a new partnership with the BASES. This collaboration offers a fantastic opportunity to enhance the quality and reach of sport and exercise science in further education, supporting high standards of practice and providing additional resources for our member colleges.”
Ian Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, BASES, said:
“I am delighted that BASES has formed a new partnership with the AoC Sport. This supports our desire to extend the breadth and depth of our membership and support for sport and exercise science within the education sector. We are looking forward to collaborating with the AoC Sport to increase the provision of professional development, research and resources for sport and exercise science within the further education sector.”
BASES will be supporting the AoC Sport Curriculum Conference in February with both organisations committed to exploring further opportunities for collaboration and expansion throughout the year.
