Wellbeing Ambassadors
Congratulations on becoming a Wellbeing Ambassador!
Congratulations on becoming a Wellbeing Ambassador!
You’re now a part of a group of students working together to promote the benefits of physical activity for mental wellbeing and health and encourage students who might be going through mental health issues to be more active.
Half of mental health problems start before the age of 14, and 75% by the age of 24. That's why colleges like yours play a crucial role in supporting students to take care of their mental wellbeing and develop healthy habits for life.
Your role as a Wellbeing Ambassador can take many forms. You could:
- spread awareness about the perks of physical activity
- lend a helping hand to students dealing with mental health problems
- create a safe space for your peers to be themselves.
You have the power to make a real difference. If you're interested in learning more about mental health and supporting others, there's an online course called Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity+. It'll give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to understand and support people with mental health problems. You'll be able to create a positive environment where they can enjoy being active and keep coming back for more.
We've also put together some handy resources for you. They're all in one place, making it easier for you to find information from different organisations that can assist you as a Wellbeing Ambassador.
