England Rugby Ambassadors
England Rugby has partnered with the AoC Sport Student Leadership programme to provide a great opportunity to enhance and develop young leaders through England Rugby Ambassadors.
As an England Rugby Ambassador you will inspire others to participate in rugby, raise awareness of the benefits of rugby and plan and deliver new enrichment activity utilising World Rugby's new non-contact format called T1 Rugby.
World Rugby has launched T1 Rugby, the world’s first non-contact sport that fully reflects the unique characteristics of rugby, to supercharge participation and engagement by making the sport more relevant and accessible to young people.
With the mantra of 'a game for everyone, played by anyone', T1 Rugby has an emphasis on fun, fitness and inclusion and will provide a fun, welcoming, time efficient and safe environment for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, reflecting the international federation’s mission of a global sport for all.
The key elements of the role
- Undertake and participate in development opportunities provided by the RFU/ECRFU and AoC Sport
- Act as an ambassador and inspire new players to participate in rugby through T1 Rugby
- Use T1 Rugby campaigns increasing awareness and promoting benefits
- Plan, support and deliver rugby activities which sustain and grow participation. This could include: pitch up and play T1 Rugby sessions (mixed or gender specific), T1 Rugby Intramural festival/league, or inter college T1 festivals
- Recruit and lead other student volunteers to support rugby activity, adding value through (event organisation, social media, marketing and refereeing)
- Build and develop relationships with local clubs supporting the transition of players into, during and out of college
- Gather data, monitor and report on the impact of activities
