3x3 Basketball

A condensed version of basketball played with three players per team on a half-court. The game is fast-paced, emphasizing quick decision-making, agility, and shooting accuracy.

  • Find opportunities to play
  • Be registered to enter competitions with your friends or to help find you a team
  • Record all of your 3x3 activity

3x3 requires organisation but not necessarily “coaching” as players can rely on their 5v5 knowledge or basic instruction so they can make their own decisions and have fun.

Your college won’t need lots of specialist coaches to supervise activity, just a few enthusiastic, well organised people to get creative and run some tournaments.

And then of course there’s the equipment, and here’s the easy bit – a ball and a local indoor or outdoor court – it really is as simple as that.

The only things that are asked are:

  • that you complete the 3x3 Affiliation Form* if you are affiliating a club, league, association or charity to BE for 3x3 basketball events.
    • Affiliation is £80 and will cover registered 3x3 basketball events from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2025.
  • And after you've done that, register your 3x3 event with BE.

* If you're already affiliated with Basketball England (for 5v5 ), this will cover your organisation for 3x3 activity. Though the 3x3 affiliation form still needs to be completed.
