Principal and CEO
Salary: Competitive
Organisation: West Thames College
Location: West London
Closing Date: 16 Mar 2025
West Thames College is one of the most exciting and successful colleges of further and higher education in London and our vibrant campuses in Isleworth and Feltham have some of the best facilities in the country. With an income of around £24m and good financial health we are proud to be rated Outstanding by Ofsted in our last inspection in December 2024.
We have a reputation for giving excellent support to our diverse student population and staff are well supported within a culture of continuous professional development. We are a values-based and highly inclusive college, serving a vibrant and diverse area, and making a positive contribution to wider social and economic agendas. We work closely with businesses and community partners to drive innovation, create opportunities for growth and provide industry-standard learning experiences.
Our current Principal is retiring after an extremely successful tenure at the college, leaving a superb opportunity for an inspirational new leader to build on our achievements and take the college ever further forwards. Our new Principal and CEO will lead a responsive, high quality curriculum which serves the needs of our communities, ensuring that our offer is inclusive and our teaching and learning are innovative and consistently striving for excellence. Key to our success will be positioning the college as an integral strategic player with businesses and community partners and ensuring that we are seen as the first choice for students in the area. You will also motivate and inspire our talented workforce, ensuring we strive for the best outcomes for our students and communities.
Our ideal candidate will be an inspirational senior leader, with proven leadership experience in Further Education and an inclusive, values based approach. In order to maintain our excellent people-first culture, we are seeking an individual with integrity, who prioritises collaboration, empowers others and is visible and accessible to staff and students. As a strong ambassador, our new Principal and CEO will have the ability to nurture and develop relationships with key external stakeholders and ensure the college has a high profile. Financial acumen is of key importance, as is the drive for ongoing excellence and enhancement of our offer and outcomes.
You may be a current serving Principal or an aspiring leader seeking your first Principal post, either way, you will need to share our passion for inclusivity and exceptional learner experience. If you believe that you have the vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference, we want to hear from you.
West Thames College champions excellence, integrity, equality and respect.
Please note we have engaged the AoC Team to support us with this appointment. All interested individuals should direct their enquiries to the AoC Team and not the college.
