Head of People and Culture
Salary: £49,000 - £55,000
Organisation: Kirklees College
Location: Huddersfield
Closing Date: 21 Apr 2025
Kirklees College is at the heart of its community providing inspirational teaching and ensuring the curriculum is developed with employers, enabling all students to progress. We are situated in the heart of West Yorkshire and boast seven bespoke centres across the Kirklees region, from two main centres based in Huddersfield and Dewsbury to specific learning centres in Animal Care, Construction, Engineering, Process Manufacturing, as well as the Pioneer Higher Skills Centre which is dedicated to higher education and higher skills. Kirklees College is uniquely vocational and offers a wide range of 16-18, higher education, adult courses and apprenticeships taught by industry-experienced tutors to provide learners with hands-on experience in their chosen career path. The college is a highly successful education and skills provider, embedded as an impactful anchor institution in the local area.
The college has a bright future, and we are committed to appointing an inspirational individual to help the college at this pivotal point in our development and the growth of the People and Culture Team. We are seeking an individual with integrity, who prioritises collaboration, empowers others, and is visible and accessible to staff and students.
As our new Head of People and Culture you will lead a high-performing, adaptive, and self-improving service that equips managers with the leadership and management skills needed to create an excellent organisation. The best managers drive and enable excellence, and your role ensures they are empowered to do so. The People & Culture department must be a strategic partner that adds value to the organisation and enables progress at pace, ensuring that people practices support - not hinder - our ambition for excellence. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of People and Culture, you will need to lead by example and support in empowering and developing our colleagues.
You will come from a Human Resources and people-focused background and be a qualified CIPD professional. You will be experienced, collaborative, authentic, ready to make a profound impact. You will need to share our passion for inclusivity and exceptional learner experiences.
If you believe you have the drive, vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and help us realise our ambitions, we want to hear from you.
Key Dates to Note:
Closing date for applications is: Monday 21 April 2025
Final interviews to be held at the college: Week commencing Monday 28 April 2025

For an informal discussion about the role, contact Rachel at rachel.west@aoc.co.uk
