“I chose to study Electrical because it’s varied and interesting, and it’s a buoyant trade – electricians will always be in demand. The lessons are interesting and the teachers are really good. There’s some maths and quite a lot of science, but it’s always directly relevant to what you’re learning. For example, you need to be able to calculate the materials you need, and the cost. At the moment we’re working on metal trunking and armoured cables, which I’ve never done before. Next year I’m hoping to get an apprenticeship, so that I can keep learning at college while I’m doing a job.”
