Funded by Erasmus+ and led by MBO Raad, AoC and other equivalent organisations in 11 countries across Europe took part in the Promoting Adult Learning in Networks (PRALINE) project.

PRALINE aimed to share best practice of adult vocational education across multiple different European countries. The 11 countries that took part were:

  • Netherlands
  • UK
  • Ireland
  • Finland
  • Slovenia
  • Estonia
  • Spain
  • Basque Country
  • France
  • Portugal
  • Croatia

In order to show case best practice 8 out of 11 countries held peer learning activities (PLAs) that allowed all partners to see and hear from policy makers/educations in the adult education field. This often occurred face-to-face and therefore required partners to travel to different countries, however due to covid, some PLAs were held online.

The following PLAs were delivered:

PLA Theme 1: Adult Education: Where does responsibility lie and how do EU Member States ensure that education for adults is accessible and affordable at all levels.

PLA Theme 2: Digitalisation, Automation and Artificial Intelligence – Upskilling and reskilling adults in a digital age

PLA Theme 3: Sustainable development goals and what does this mean for VET and Adult Education

PLA Theme 4: Language learning for migrant learners

PLA Theme 5: Adult Learning in the workplace

PLA Theme 6: Basic Skills for All

PLA 7: Final review of PLAs

PLA 8: Final conference in the Netherlands

As a result of the project a set of recommendations were created and produced by the project partners. A survey was completed to ask all members of European education associations to answer questions based on adult education, a survey report was created for this to highlight the findings. A final report and evaluation were also produced to demonstrate the learnings and the impact of the project.
