Bolton College

Bolton College work hand-in-hand with Bolton NHS Trust to develop courses which directly address current and future local skills needs.

The partnership has led to meaningful placements for T Level students, and NHS masterclasses delivered in college, to ensure learners achieve hands-on practical experience, and are aware of the range of job opportunities available to them in the sector.

The college has developed micro-credentials in Anatomy and Physiology at Level 3 and Level 4 and invested in Anatomage tables for the delivery of more advanced teaching, training and collaboration in clinical practice, using technology to retrain, upskill and provide CPD for existing healthcare staff.

Focused collaborative projects include the digitisation of operations at the Royal Bolton Hospital. The college has created a health digital assessment tool to assist in the plan to digitalise hospitals by 2030, which among other successes, will assist the maternity ward to transition from paper to electronic records.

The £40m state of the art new University of Bolton Medical School is already operating for post-graduate courses and looks to take its first cohort of undergraduate medicine in 2025.
