Waltham Forest College wins Colleges Week #BuildingBrighterFutures competition

The Association of Colleges is thrilled to announce Waltham Forest College as the winners of the #BuildingBrighterFutures competition, as part of Colleges Week celebrations.
#BuildingBrighterFutures, organised by Association of Colleges and sponsored by Irwin Mitchell, gives colleges an opportunity to college students and staff to showcase how their college builds brighter futures.
Colleges Week, now in its eighth year, is an annual celebration recognising the vital role colleges play in our society by showcasing the breadth of their activity and the ways in which they transform lives and communities.
Julia Belgutay, head of communications, media, marketing and research, Association of Colleges said:
“The team were really impressed with all the entries to this year's competition. The time and effort put in by students and staff really shows, and I would encourage everyone to watch the videos posted on social media under the hashtag #BuildingBrighterFutures. Congratulations to the winners from Waltham Forest College!"
Sara Ellison, Associate Chartered Legal Executive, Irwin Mitchell said:
"The video stood out as it took a different approach to illustrating how the college had evolved over the decades to the present day, demonstrating the support and varying subjects on offer to it’s students. The production appeared seamless and very professional. Well done to all those involved."
Antoinette Beekye, Assistant Director – Marketing, Communications and Enrichment, Waltham Forest College said:
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be selected as the winner of the #BuildingBrighterFutures competition for Colleges Week 2025! It’s an honour to be recognised for the transformative work we’re doing to shape the future of education at Waltham Forest College. Our marketing team put their creativity and innovation to the test on this project, bringing fresh ideas and a unique approach to showcase the lasting impact we've had within our community and beyond. We’re incredibly proud of the video, which not only highlights our achievements but also reflects our commitment to constantly evolve and push boundaries in how we support and inspire our students.
This recognition not only celebrates our past achievements but also inspires us to continue making a difference in the lives of our students and the communities we serve.”
