Events Management: An Opportunity to Engage with the Employer Group Developing this Apprenticeship Standard

10 September 2019

First Protocol is an Event Management company who are currently leading the development of an Event Management apprenticeship standard with Sarah Wright, James Greenshields and a group of employers in their sector. Once developed through the government’s apprenticeship Trailblazer programme, this apprenticeship standard will provide the blueprint for apprenticeships in the industry. The Event Management Employer group has gone from strength to strength since it gained approval from the government to develop an apprenticeship standard in March this year. It now has over 40 industry specialists committed to developing the apprenticeship and, when approved, to supporting employment of the apprentices. The standard is currently being written and refined by employers so it can provide the best apprenticeship possible for those seeking an alternative entry route into the events industry. After a wider consultation with industry, the Employer group are keen to submit a final version of the standard to BIS by September. The next stage in the development is to look at the assessment criteria and also approach learning providers. They are particularly interested in working with at least one Training Provider who has experience of working with ex-offenders and/or marginalised communities, or who have experience in wider learning within the events, marketing and communications space. The Event Management Employer group are inviting Training Providers to support the development of the assessment plan. If you have experience of delivery of provision in Event Management and are interested in engaging with the Employer group, please contact Harriet Bullen.
