ECFA and The Football Association launch FE Football Activator programme

09 October 2020

English Colleges FA (as part of AoC Sport) has secured funding for an exciting new programme for the further education sector over the next two years, initially. Working in partnership with The Football Association, we are delighted to announce the FE Football Activator programme is officially launched and the application window is open. Up to 80 colleges (general further education colleges and sixth forms) will be selected to recruit up to two Further Education Football Activators (FEFA's) to support the growth of new football participation. This programme follows the successful pilot of the Lead2Football Activator Programme that has driven a growth in female participation at ages 14-19 over the past year. Our new FE Football Activator Programme will see double the investment per college, with £600 available to grow football participation and develop the activator workforce. The FE Football Activator programme was this week launched to an excited and interested network of colleges, who were attending a development day regards the Football Development Quality Framework and the Lead2Football Activator programme, which now evolves in to the FEFA programme. Applications are invited up until June 26 and applicants will be notified by July 6 of the decision. There is also an opportunity to learn more about the programme at the AoC Sport Conference, of which all details are available here, which we recommend you attend if you are interested in this opportunity. We hope that you are excited as we are by this opportunity and we thoroughly look forward to receiving your applications, via our online form.
