AoC welcomes Professor Edward Peck selection as new Office for Students chair

Responding to the Department for Education's announcement that the Education Secretary Bridget Philipson has chosen Professor Edward Peck as her preferred candidate to chair the Office for Students, David Hughes, Chief Executive, Association of Colleges said: "We know Edward well, and believe he would be a strong appointment. His track record at Nottingham Trent University has shown that he has a commitment to developing pathways with colleges for learners from some of the most deprived parts of the country.

"He has also shown strong leadership on student mental wellbeing and health in universities and colleges. We look forward to working with him should his appointment be confirmed."

Professor Peck will now go on to attend a pre-appointment hearing before the Education Select Committee on 4 March.
