Skills matrix

The college pilots have developed these Skills Matrixes groups, with the support of their employer partners. They offer a comprehensive overview of the opportunities for progression pathways for Retrofit Installations and for Renewable Energies from Level 2 onwards for green skills in the construction industry and they form the basis of delivery in the further phases of the pilot project.

Green skills delivery resources

The various ten session green resources include a bespoke ten session delivery plan as an introduction to the green agenda and they have been implemented by the colleges during the delivery phases. There are PowerPoints of which support the initial ten session plan to explore in greater detail green skills in the construction industry.

A planning resource for staff to demonstrate that they have reflected on the ways in which they can develop their own professional skills, knowledge, and experience to meet the needs in the delivery of construction green skills. This will outline a plan of specific actions that staff intend to take to meet the development objectives.

Survey resources

This green skills industry survey is designed as a communication resource between employers and the college with the aim of offering an overview, from the employers’ perspective, on the current need in industry for green construction skill requirements. It will help the college to implement meaningful course offers of which will be part of meeting those needs.

This green skills scan is designed to gauge the developmental outcomes for students’ knowledge, skills and experience of construction green skills following their engagement whilst on a course. It can support evidential tracking for a distance travelled approach for each student.
