AoC Senior Leadership Development Programme Spring/Summer 2025

Colleges need a strong team of strategic leaders to help support the students it serves in its community. Developing agile leadership skills can seem overwhelming and it can be hard to have the space to work on the college and not in it, especially in the current times. But, your college needs to strategically look forward to enable it to be ready for future challenges and opportunities.
Programme summary
Our highly interactive and well-regarded senior leadership training programme aims to develop the strategic skills of senior leaders in the further education sector in a complex and uncertain world. This senior management training not only offers you an analysis of global strategic development best practice but also enables you to put your new knowledge into practice straight away.
Module overviews
Module one: Leading with Personal Impact
Discover your true leadership potential by understanding who you are as a senior leader. Through self-reflection and your personalised 360 feedback assessment, we will help you identify your strengths, weaknesses, and the impact you have on those around you. Together, we will craft a vision for your future leadership impact and equip you with actionable strategies to achieve it.
Module two: Leading Strategically
In the ever-evolving landscape of the FE sector, strategic thinking is paramount. This module will empower you to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. We will delve into the traps senior leaders often encounter when neglecting the external environment and explore a proven methodology for dynamic strategic thinking. Prepare to elevate your strategic mindset and capabilities!
Module three: Leading Transformational Change
Change is constant in our sector, yet why does it often feel so challenging? Uncover the psychological and emotional reactions to change in this transformative module. With a real change initiative, you're responsible for as our focus, we will guide you through a process that enables a deeper understanding of change dynamics. Discover the essential elements for accelerating organisational change and gain the confidence to effectively advocate for change within your institution.
Between modules, participants will have the opportunity to embed their new knowledge and experiment with your leadership approaches. Additionally, each participant will receive virtual one to one coaching sessions with one of our esteemed programme facilitators, Barbara Van Der Eecken or Hannah Wilson. Their wealth of experience and dedication to your growth guarantees an unparalleled learning experience..

Who is the programme for?
This programme is for senior leaders who want to improve their impact and / or advance to Principal or CEO positions.
Designed for those already working at a senior level (Tiers one and two) this programme is aimed at:
- Campus Principals
- Vice, Deputy / Assistant Principals
- Directors or those in similar roles, working in the FE and skills sector.

Pricing options
The full programme costs £3,825 + VAT for member colleges and £4,425 + VAT for non-member colleges.
Attendees can also choose to attend just one or two modules (instead of the whole programme). Each face-to-face module is priced at £1,275 + VAT for member colleges and £1,475 for non-member colleges.
We understand the value of face-to-face training and networking is extremely high, particularly in a programme like this, which is why will be running the programme face-to-face as long as it is safe to do so and in line with government guidelines.
Participants will be kept up to date at all times on any changes.
