Valuing youth voice through social action

Case study by Phoebe McMullen, apprentice at Bournemouth and Poole College, Weymouth College and Wiltshire College.

Phoebe McMullen is a Youth Social Action Apprentice at Bournemouth and Poole College, Weymouth College and Wiltshire College. Phoebe delivers youth social action activities across all three colleges whilst completing her Level 3 Youth Support Worker Qualification, delivered by Bolton College. This case study is on a social action activity at Wiltshire College.

Youth social action projects show young people’s energy and ambition for positive change. Phoebe McMullen wanted to find out what students wished to change within their communities and help them act upon their ideas. Advocating for young people’s voices is a hugely rewarding part of the role and it is inspiring to see students take interest and pride in their communities.
