Film London - Metro London Skills Cluster

The Metro London Skills Cluster, led by Film London, has been awarded a contract from the BFI’s National Lottery programme.

The AoC is one of six partners in the project and the partners form the ‘Metro London Skills Cluster’ (MLSC). AoC have been awarded funding to support Film London to deliver a grant funded programme through the British Film Industry.

The Skills Cluster will deliver an integrated programme of activities across London and the ‘gateway’ counties of Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Surrey. The programme aims to increase the pipeline of diverse talent going into the film sector and AoC’s role is to provide policy advice and engage our members.

The BFI’s Metro London Skills Cluster: Call for Proposals to the FE Curriculum Partnerships Fund

As part of the BFI’s Metro London Skills Cluster (MLSC), Film London and the Association of Colleges (AoC) are inviting proposals from London FE colleges for a grant under the FE Curriculum Partnerships Fund. This will enable them to work with an industry partner on curriculum innovation pilot projects to address the skills and diversity challenges within the screen sector.

The aim of the pilot projects is to test new approaches for joint working between FE and industry which will inform future models of collaboration as well as ongoing curriculum development in FE.

Grants of between £10,000 and £15,000 are available to support the project activity. (Colleges may bid as a consortium of two or more institutions for a larger pilot project and a grant of up to £20,000).
