AoC charters

Our vision is a further education (FE) sector where everyone feels included and empowered to thrive through wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement. The aim of these three charters is to advocate for a FE sector where students, staff, and the community are valued, engaged and supported, in order to fulfil their potential.

By promoting wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement, these charters help colleges create an environment where everyone can thrive.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Charter

This charter aims to ensure students and staff have the support and resources they need to maintain good mental health and wellbeing. It integrates wellbeing into everything from the curriculum to the workplace culture and leadership strategies.

Student Engagement Charter

This charter aims to ensure that students are active partners in shaping their education and college experience. It focuses on meaningful student engagement, creating inclusive representation, and offering opportunities for leadership, advocacy, and personal development.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Charter

This charter promotes fairness, belonging, and representation for everyone, no matter their background. It pushes for inclusive policies and practices that reflect the diverse communities colleges serve.

These charters provide a framework for FE colleges to foster environments that prioritise good mental health, celebrate diversity, and empower staff and students to play an active role in their college and community.
