Shared parental leave

AoC is currently working with the officers of the National Joint Forum to revise and update the current family friendly joint agreements (maternity, paternity and adoption) and to incorporate provisions from the new shared parental leave scheme into one joint agreement. The next meeting with the officers is on 11 November where this will be discussed further. AoC will provide an update to members following the meeting. ACAS has this week launched a good practice guide for employers and employees on shared parental leave which provides guidance to help eligible parents decide whether the benefits of shared parental leave will work for them and how it could be used alongside, or instead of, traditional maternity or adoption leave. It has been written to provide employers with an understanding of their legal obligations and good practice procedures to use in their workplaces.
