Future Apprenticeships: AoC Mock end-point assessment report

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) commissioned and funded the Association of Colleges (AoC) to set-up, support and report on a series of mock end-point assessments (EPAs) as part of the Future Apprenticeships programme. The key objective was to test and trial apprenticeship EPAs before a major rollout, and obtain learning that could be shared more widely. The project ran over the course of summer 2016. Participants in the project established mock EPAs for a small number of apprentices who were towards the end of their training (some apprentices were studying against standards and some on closely related frameworks). These apprentices were put through an EPA that was as close to real conditions as possible. The aim was to test the planning, organisation, process and delivery of the EPA. Learning was obtained by surveying all stakeholders involved in the mock EPA; further in-depth feedback was gathered from the project leads. The report is now available to download.
